John S Moolakkattu

John S Moolakkattu is Professor and Director, School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. A former Professor of IIT Madras and the Inaugural Gandhi- Luthuli Professorial Chair in Peace Studies, University of KwaZulu- Natal, Durban, South Africa, John read at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Hyderabad Central University and University of Bradford majoring in political science and peace studies, and obtained his Ph.D in International Relations from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He is a recipient of the UGC research award, Commonwealth Scholarship as well as Fellowship, and Fulbright Professorship. He has published in highly rated journals like Cooperation and Conflict, Indian Journal of Gender Studies, Economic and Political Weekly, International Studies, Asian Journal of Women’s Studies, Public Administration and Development and Peace Review, among others, and has an excellent citation index. One of the early exponents of peace studies in India, he has also specialized in Local Governance and Participatory Planning, Political and International Relations Theory, Gender, Development Studies, Gandhian Studies and African Studies, and is the co-founder-editor of the South African bi-annual Journal Ubuntu: Journal of Conflict Transformation published by Adonis Abbey, London. M P Mathai

M P Mathai is currently the Dean of Gandhi Research Foundation, Jalgaon, Maharashtra . He was earlier Professor of Gandhian Philosophy at Gujarat Vidyapith and Professor & Director of School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He has paid several visits to the US, Mexico and a few other countries on lecture tours and has been active in the Gandhian movement. He is a long-standing member of the Board of Directors of the Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi. His acclaimed book Gandhi’s World View has been published by the Gandhi Peace Foundation. Ram Chandra Pradhan

A well-known scholar and social activist, taught for four decades at Ramjas College, University of Delhi. Dr Pradhan has been a senior Fulbright Fellow (1979–80) and an Indo-Canadian Shastri Fellow (1993). He has recently completed a full-length study of Mahatma Gandhi and is at present engaged in a multi-volume study of the Indian Socialist Movement.
